More often than not, they are learned, well read, and they tend to see distinctions and inconsistencies in rhetoric and written arguments instantaneously. Only sentences that are coherent carry weight with them, and thus authority derived from office, credential, or celebrity does not impress them. Architects influence others by appealing to logic and reason, expecting that what is obvious to them ought to be apparent to all.
Architects retreat quite often into the world of books and emerge only when physical needs become imperative. If left to their own devices, they would prefer to reside in the world of ideas, where there are no limitations. They are not likely to welcome much social activity, content to leave the scheduling of such interactions to others.
